Hi David:
I came across your website doing a Google search for Armstrongs in Surry County, North Carolina. Your hard work is evident and fasinating. My name is Sabrina Cook, and I am the granddaughter of the late Laymon Armstrong who is listed on your site (son of Mary Jane Sparger). I called my grandmother (Eva Key Armstrong) who is 84 and grew up knowing this history to confirm this information. Here are some revisions for you to consider:
Lewis Andrew Armstrong and Mary Jane Sparger were married in 1909 in Surry County. Lewis Andrew Armstrong died in 1961. The dates of birth of their children are correct, but names are note quite accurate. In order:
Coy Lendo (not Ledo) Armstrong
d. early 1980's
James Laymon Armstrong
d. December 6, 1993
William Ray (not Roy)
living
Geneva Zora Armstrong Key
living
Elizabeth Ophelia Armstrong Simmons
living
Lewis Hardin (not -en) Armstong
died in WWII, earned purple heart
Dorothy Magolia (Goldie) Armstrong Simmons
living
Please email me if you have further questions.

BTW, my grandmother Eva Ann Key Armstrong was born 1917 and is one of the 11? children of John Gabriel Key and Ida May Boyles who are also listed on your site.
