P.S. A couple of other things:
1.Grandpa Liford (Ellen Lucille's spouse) was named Jearl at birth. When he grew up, he preferred to be called Jerry. The courthouse with his birth record burned down, and those with records were asked to come and record their information again. When he did, he recorded his name as Jerry. That is why his son is Jerry Jr. rather than Jearl Jr. Not sure if this is important, but I thought I would let you know.
2. I have read that it was typical for Scottish or Scots-Irish people to name children after the child's grandparent. Could Ellen Lucille have been named for her grandmother Martha Ellen Marshall?
