Arthur,
Thank you very much for remembering to update me. Doris has been a source of much genealogy information for me over the years. I will truly miss communication with her.
Was her date of death the 2nd or the 3rd?
David Marshall

Dear David: Thank you so very much. I didn't realize I had put .com instead of .net and that does make a difference. I will send out the corrected change to those I haven't heard from since I changed to verizon.net.
I went to the funeral of Doris Gwendolyn (Everhart) Everhart yesterday in Thomasville, NC and I had planned to email you that information today, which I will do under separate cover. She is one of our Marshall descendants through Martin Marshall and his first wife. She and I became acquainted years ago and became best of friends in addition to being genealogy pals. I'm going to miss her. She lived in Thomasville, Davidson County, NC for many years, but after becoming disabled with cancer and her husband is semi-invalid and couldn't take care of her, both moved in with their daughter Teresa (?) Gail (Everhart) Palmer (called "Gail") in Richmond, VA and that is where she died (at her daughter's home: 801 Ashington Place, Richmond, VA 23236-4174). Her body was shipped back to Thomasville, NC and buried in the Emanuel Reformed United Church of Christ Cemetery where she was a member.
That funeral was the first one I had ever attended that mentioned genealogy in the bible, which they read off about 42 generations from the bible and then they told of Doris' love of family history and her tireless work on her genealogy, including her Everhart Family History she had published some years ago. To my knowledge she never had any Marshall Family History published. She had a computer to store her work, but was not connected to the internet.
Thanks again for your message regarding the .com vs the .net. Sincerely,
Ruth
