      57. Nancy Jane Richardson was born July 13, 1849, in Indiana. She married Jesse Spriggs Powell on January 24, 1867 at Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana. Jesse was born on February 2, 1847, probably at South Bethany, Bartholomew County, Indiana.

The Powells moved from Monroe County, Indiana, to Nevada, Missouri, sometime after 1870. They lived in Missouri for a time and later relocated to Aliza, Illinois. Aliza is about five miles east of Muscatine, Iowa. Jesse was a farmer there, owning some 640 acres at one time.

Nancy Jane died on July 6, 1891, possibly with another child. After her death, Jesse lost most of his wealth . He lived at such places as Wataga, Illinois, and LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He may have remarried but no proof of that has been found. Jesse died on March 4, 1923, and both he and Nancy are interred at Edgington Cemetery, Rock Island County, Edgington, Illinois.

      76. Anna "Annie" Mae Powell was born on September 25, 1879, in Edgington, Rock Island County, Illinois. Her slate school blackboard has her birth date and Milan, Illinosi, which may be her real birth place or where she was attending school. She married Jasper "Jap" H. Gearhart on December 18, 1902, by L. H. Runalls, Pastor of the Congregational Church of Lawn Ridge, Marshall County, Illinois. Rev. J. Charles Evans and Nellie M. Runalls witnessed the event. Jasper was a farm laborer from Laprarie, Illinois. He was born on November 6, 1874, to John M. and Elizabeth C. (Crab) Gearhart in Greene County, Illinois.

The Gearharts separated in the early 1920's, and neither ever remarried nor did they divorce. Jasper returned to Erie, Kansas, where the Gearharts had settled, and Annie remained with their two daughters in Stark County, Illinois. Annie died on March 30, 1943, at Peoria, Illinois. Interment was at Lawn Ridge Cemetery, Marshall County, Illinois. Jasper died on February 28, 1949, at Erie, Kansas, and was interred at Richland (aka Gearhart) Cemetery at St. Paul, Kansas.
