- !Marshall 0007, Pg. 31 - This source lists a child named "Amerilla."
Since all of the other names match other sources that I have, I believe
that Mericus and Amerilla may be the same person. But that leaves us with a
problem. One source calls him Mac but "Amerilla" is a female's name.
!Badgett 0001, pg. 2 - This source gives his name as "Americus Jackson
Badgett".
!In the family Bible his name looks like "Muricus." [DWM-1993]
!In the May, 1993 issue of The Journal of Surry County Genealogical Association,
page 32 his name is given as Amercus J. Badgett. It quotes Surry County
marriage records 1869 - 1899.
!Badgett 0004, p. 2 - His granddaughter, Alma Badgett (RIN 1092) is the source
of this document. She aslo knew him as Americus.
