- According to my source document he married his first cousin. It also says that she was the daughter of Bowater Sparger. I have looked through the manuscript very carefully and have located a Hester Sparger who is indeed the daughter of Bowater Spager. She is his first cousin, one generation removed.
I would conclude that this is the Hester he married except for one minor detail; she married James Waddell and had 12 children by him. There is no mention of her ever being married to anyone else. According to the dates of the births of her children by James, she would have been having children well into her 60's if she had seven more children by Phillipp. Therefore, I can only conclude that there is another Hester Sparger who is the daughter of a Bowater Sparger that I do not have information on. That seems strange because all of the Sparger information came from the same manuscript by W. M. Creasy.
Until I can get better information I cannot say that this Hester is the same one that was married to James Waddell.
