      CAMDEN - Joseph Hugh Parsons, 75, husband of Judith Martin Parsons, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. Born June 23, 1942 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Joseph Hiram Parsons and Mary Duggins Parsons. He received his Bachelor?s degree from East Stroudsburg State College. He moved to Camden in 1966 where he taught at Camden Military Academy until 1982. After five years of working for the City of Camden, he served as Superintendent for the East Richland County Public Service District until his retirement. After his retirement he worked for the Cassatt Water Company. He served as a volunteer for the Camden Fire Department and played the trumpet as a member of the Camden Community Band.

      In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Scot of Columbia and Brad of Lugoff; grandchildren, Connor, Joseph, William, Kallie, and Gracie as well as his brother, Phillip of Nazareth, PA and sister-in-law, Brenda Martin Burch of Aiken, SC.

      Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
