"journal of the Surry County Genealogical Association", Winter 2018, p. 5 This source says that they were married in 1895. It is probably the most accurate. Other sources say they were married in 1893. (The text below comes from this source.)

In Memory of Willie P. Robertson.
Died, at White Plains, of typhoid fever, on April 4, 1896, Willie P. Robertson, aged 27 years. The deceased was born and reared in Surry county and was esteemed by all who know him.
In the fall of 1892 he was happily converted but did not join any church. He lived upright and was honest in all his dealings with man. On October 3, 1895, he was married to Miss Mary Gardner, of Pine Ridge, N. C., and started out on life's journey with bright prospects before him, but about six weeks ago he was taken sick and had to retire from business. He was one of those who endured his sickness with much patience, never murmuring of facing death, but said before he was confined to his bed that he would never get well.
The funeral services were conducted at the Friends' Church by Rev. W. H. Beamer and T. Wesley Wooten, where a large concourse of people was gathered to pay the last tribute of respect to the departed. His remains were interred in the Friends' cemetery to await the final resurrection. We sympathize very much with the bereaved wife, relatives and parents in their sad hour of distress, but can only commend them to a loving Heavenly Father's consolation and consoling grace.
0, how we miss thee, dear Willie, Since thou left this world to go, To that bright Heavenly home above, Where there is no grief nor woe.
    Richard V. Marshall.
