If nothing else I got a good laugh. thanks, your third cousin three times removed lol! I also have a son just so that you know if you're continuing to add to this list, as I'm sure it is very time consuming. My son's name is also David. I guess he is the only one to carry out this "branch" of the tree at this time as I only have one male cousin with the last name of Scales. My uncle Lloyd and his wife Terrie have two children, Travis and Tiffany. Merlin has no children, and has never been married, well yet anyway. I almost forgot, I thought that the browns were related to J.E.B. Stuart, I looked and didn't see his name on the list, and I know it's probably that I missed it. Well, it's nice to kinda meet you, my third cousin three times removed... chad | SCALES, David (I42080)

Throughout the years, Walter attended Salem Baptist Church. He taught Intermediate Boy's Sunday School for thirty years. He aspired to be a Deacon, then Head Deacon, and then that wonderful man with the firm grip there to shake your hand and send God's Grace with you as you left the Church. Walter's masonic life was also a dedication. He was Past Master of the Blue Lodge, Past Master of the Scottish Rite, and Past Master of the Shrine. He held the distinction of the Thirty-three Degree. Law enforcement did not immediately identify the man, but his father and a long-time friend identified the man as Todd Burroughs, 38, of Stoneville. Two deputies were patrolling north of Stoneville about 1:50 a.m. when they spotted a pickup truck behind a business, said Scott Williams, special agent in charge with the State Bureau of Investigation. Williams did not know the location or name of the business. Thinking the truck looked suspicious, the deputies tried to pull it over. When the truck didn't stop, they followed it for several miles with their blue lights on, Williams said. The truck stopped in a driveway on Garrett Road. Williams said the driver got out and struggled with the deputies. The man was shot by the deputies and died at the scene, Williams said. The SBI agent declined to say if he was armed. One of the deputies was treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries. He had not been shot, and authorities said his wounds are not life-threatening. The SBI said it won?t make public the names of the deputies until agents interview both men. Burroughs' father, Bruce Burroughs, and Burroughs' friend, J.W. Shough, confirmed Todd Burroughs' death Sunday and provided more details. Bruce Burroughs said his grandchildren, who were in the truck, recounted for him what happened. Bruce Burroughs and Shough said the family - Todd Burroughs, his wife Rebekah, and two of their children, ages 10 and 9 - were coming home from a wedding early Sunday. According to Bruce Burroughs, Todd Burroughs pulled into the driveway of his home and got out of the pickup truck. The deputies used a stun gun and pepper spray to subdue him. When Todd Burroughs took a bottle of water from his truck to help ease the effects of the pepper spray, the deputies ordered him to drop it. Burroughs' dog got between him and the deputies and was shot, then Burroughs was shot. The dog also died from its wounds. A later call to the SBI seeking comment on this version of events was not returned. A call to Burroughs' wife also was not returned. "I'm trying to figure out some way to make sense out of it, and there?s no way to make any sense out of it," Bruce Burroughs said.
