My maiden name was Kathryn Sue Niederhauser, it was not spelled correctly in the listing. Also, my sister, Nancy Jean Niederhauser is deceased, she passed away in 1981. The listing shows myself as deceased. Do you have access to this website to change the information? I would appreciate any help that you could provide. I do have marriage liscense or other info to prove these names and dates. I will have to get back later to give you the rest of the line. I also have that the Matthew Marshall of the 1870 census shows Elizabeth, Emily, Jona and a Matthew age 81( which I think is my Matthewa father or Grand father.) maybe when I get your disc and start on this side again I will be able to straighten out the difference. One of the sources farther down indicated that her maiden name was Whitfield. However, there was another marriage in Stokes County December 26, 1865, between a Matthew Marshall and Elizabeth T. Whitfield. Because of the late marriage date, every researcher thought that this Matthew was the son of Richard who was the son of Matthew, Sr. (See *.1.7.4.1, in DESCENDANTS OF MARTIN MARSHALL AND ALLIED FAMILIES, 2nd edition, pg. 55, September, 1994 by David Marshall) However, Don Shelton of Winston Salem, North Carolina has a copy of Matthew, Sr's. pension papers from The War of 1812. In those papers, Elizabeth states that Matthew died July 6, 1876, that her maiden name was Elizabeth T. Whitfield , that Matthew's first wife was Elizabeth Jones, that the first wife had been dead about 29 years, and that she, herself was 50 years old. There was quite an age difference between them. Survivors include sons, Paul Francis Mitchell III, Virginia, and Brad Mitchell, Talking Rock; daughters, Cathlin Moorehead, Alpharetta, and Joan Mitchell, Ellijay; half-brother, Jimmy Stafford, North Carolina; sister, Betty Hubbard, Kernersville, N.C. Ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 1 at 11 a.m. from Sosebee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clent Boling officiating.
