She confirmed that the picture was in mid fifties, probably after Luther's funeral. She confirmed the order was Clyde, Earl, Russell, Ralph, Howard and Victor. She said Uncle Luther had a stroke in the 40's and passed in 1955. I am attaching a scanned copy of a enlarged photo that was hanging over my grandfathers (Ralph) mantle of his father, Robert Marion Monroe Wray, during the Spanish American War. My Aunt Gayle has a copy of his discharge papers. I think Myrtle had the original. I have the large version of the photo attached now hanging in my living room. I didn?t see it on your page so I thought you might like to have it. I will also get with Gayle as soon as I can to get scanned copy of Victor in the military uniform photo. I'll send more photos as I can get them scanned. I'll keep in touch. _______________________________________________ From: Wray, Michael V. I believe you sent my daughter, Karen (Wray) Grady a 3.5" floppy diskette several years ago with information on Robert including the text from some of Nancy's letters to his army superiors before he was sent to Cuba in the Spanish-American War. If you go to "Gene's Home Page" and my family tree maker homepage URL's below, you will find everything I have learned to date about the Wray side of my family. Also, there is a photo of Robert Marion Monroe Wray on a horse when he was in the service. My Dad, Ralph George Wray, died on January 3, 1993, three days before his 83rd birthday. All of his siblings have passed away except Myrtle Wray Mckeithan his sister who is approximately 94 or 95 years old. Aunt Myrtle lives with her daughter Katherine Mckeithan Fenton in Alexandria, Virginia. I visited your home page and I am very impressed. I will send the photos to you once I talk to Aunt Gayle, who is still living. Ill see what I have too. She has a picture of Victor in his dress military uniform. Victor and Howard were both born in Richmond. They never lived in Mt Airy. The family moved here after Ralph, my grandfather, was born. Great Grandfather Robert Marion Monroe Wray was buried at Riverview Cemetery originally but was moved to south Richmond, Maury Cemetery later. My grandfather Ralph had him moved. I have a picture of Ralph at the graveside of hs father in 1925 at Riverview. He was 15. My dad and the others that lived here are there too.The bulk of them lived in south Richmond and their descendants still do. I believe it is Francis Marion Wray, who was a son of Amos Wray. He died June 22, 1877, and Robert Marion is listed on the 1880 census under Robert Eli Wray. Francis Marion Wray was married to Jane, who was born about 1847. They had 2 children- Ann born about 1866 and Marion born about 1869. Francis Marion Wray was a Private B in Campbell's Rifles in the twelveth SCV in the War of Northern Aggression, or more commonly known as the War Between the States. This information came from the Hart Collection at McCelvey Center in York and the Confederate State Roster SC Name Roster Volume 1. I am still looking for other information and it is possible that I am wrong. There may be more children, but I will keep trying to find more information. Linda _________________________________ An image of Robert M. Wray's death certificate was attached to the message below. It is stored in the "Unnumbered Documents" folder and is named "Wray, Robert Marion - Death Certificate." From: Charles Crabtree To: Henry Eugene Wray Sent: Saturday, May 08, 2004 9:31 AM Subject: Death Cert. Robert Marion Wray Gene Linda, Attached is a copy of the Death Certificate for my Great Grandfather Robert Marion Wray. It was in the mail when we returned home from our last trip. As I read it: Robert was born August 4, 1869 in South Caroline. His wife is listed as Nancy S. Byars born South Carolina. His father is listed as Marion Wray and his mom as ___ Bell, both born in South Carolina. The informant's name appears to be C. M. Wray. If so this would be my Grandfather. Clyde was living in Richmond at the time. My mom who was born in Richmond would have been about 2 years old and says she does not remember Robert but she knows that the Clyde Mack family lived about 1/2 block from Robert and Nancy. The cert. list the address for Robert as 1111 Hull. I know that (Hull) is hard to read but after talking to mom she is sure that Robert and Nancy lived on Hull Street in a Flat. She believes that Robert and Nancy lived over Tony's restaurant and says that Nancy use to make pies for that restaurant. Robert did die at work according to my mom so it would appear that Robert worked as a Mill Wright for the Standard Paper Mill in Richmond, VA. Robert is shown to be buried in Riverview. I assume that Riverview is the name of the cemetery. Surprisingly, my mom did not realize until today that she and her Grandfather Robert share the same birthday, August 4. So now we know that Marion Wray was the father of Robert and Robert's mother was a Bell. I have her listed as Jane Bell but do not know who came up with the name Jane. I'll bet that Robert's father was Frances Marion Wray. If you cannot read this death cert. let me know and I will copy it and mail a copy to you. Charles Crabtree | WRAY, Robert Marion Monroe (I460)

I have no data from your fifth generation on. I'm sure you left some of that stuff off on purpose so forgive me for mentioning it. Your presentation is easy to read and that's always nice. Thanks for sharing it with me You've been a great help. If I get any more data to secure the relationships or fill in missing dates or whatever, I'll be sure to send it on to you and I hope you'll do the same. Charlie | FRY, Mary Jane (I41234)

| 30810 | Frye, Valentine - 1 - In the unnumbered documents folder. ____________________________________________ From: Charlie Fry Date: Friday, September 24, 2004 4:09 PM It all came through this time. You've followed the descendants of R. L Fry right up 'til today. I guess we parted company when I followed Absalom Fry and you took up with Nehemiah. You may have left much of this out on purpose but: P.1 John, Jacob, Peter, Adam, and Henry were all born in Bethania, NC Michael was born in Bethabara, NC. Valentine Frey married Mary Katharine Yonce (or Younce) Joseph Frey married Mary Amis Jordan may also be spelled Jourdan. I show a Maria Barbara Frey being born 6/24/1777 in Bethania. She's missing from your group---but maybe she should be. Let me know so I can remove her. P. 2 No. 9 is the troublesome Valentine Frey (Fry on his tombstone). Would you want to put the "III" in to separate him from the other Valentines? That's also on his tombstone so it can't be far off. Not sure what your readership is for this tree, but I've come to appreciate having specific burial locations, in this case Cripple Creek, in case someone wants some day to go see. If you want to put burial places in, then Hiram is buried in Evergreen Cemetery (I think Cripple Creek), and Absalom is buried in Pearisburg, VA.. Nehemiah is also buried in Cripple Creek Absalom (with an "m") Slimp---may also be spelled Slemp Abraham died 3/21/1844 in Bland County. I believe that Jane Fry had also a Mary in front of the Jane. She was born 1/4/1829 and died 9/14/1808 (in TN) Mary Jane married Porter____ on 12/28/1848 P. 3 Nehemiah and Lucinda Eastwood had a total of 13 children. Date: Thursday, September 06, 2001 4:16 PM Hi David, How nice to hear from you! The only information I have on any of the siblings of Andrew Jackson Fry comes from Russell Fry (rfry@4state.com), who is descended from George Fry, another son of George M. and Isabel. You may already be in touch with him? As far as the children of Andrew Jackson and Mary Jane Webster go, two boys, Earnest and Orris died young. I've attached a family photo with the rest of the "children." I think this photo was taken around 1920, but I'm not sure. In front, left to right, are Andrew Jackson, Paula, and Mary Jane. In back are Emma, Ada, Orven, Maude, and Ruth. I can give you birthdates, but that info is at home and I am at work. Paula married Byron Cory and had two boys. They lived in West Covina, CA for many years. (I have more info at home -- and am not in touch with any of them -- maybe Bob is??) Emma married Alfred Pilgrim and they had two girls, Evelyn and Jenelle. I am in touch with Evelyn's older son, Bob Pata (NPata@aol.com) and one of Jenelle's granddaughters-in-law, Margarita Feldmiller (margaritaaz@hotmail.com). For more info on their descendants, you can e-mail them. Ada married Louis Kropf and they lived in Alhambra, California for many years. They had no children. Andrew and Mary Jane lived out their last years with Ada and Louis. Orven may have married someone named Lorene, and may have moved to California or Oklahoma, I haven't been able to find him yet. Maude was my grandmother, and you have some of my information. My father, Ramsay Harris, was born in Dharwar, India, in 1900, and is approaching his 101st birthday on October 4th. (His older brother is now 102.) I have one brother, Andrew (50), living in California, no issue. My daughters are Ana Ware June (29) and Jennifer Crispen Ware (24). Ana's children are Soren Skye Ramsay June (7), Mirabai Eliana Courpalais June (5), and Chiara Nicole Soleil June (1). Ruth Fry Griep married Raymond Griep, no issue. Let me know what else I can help you with -- I do have more photos, but haven't scanned them in yet. I'm copying off both of my girls, Russell Fry, Bob Pata, Margarita Feldmiller, and Traci Stone (who is also descended from George Fry) on this e-mail. Emma married Alfred Pilgrim and they had two girls, Evelyn and Jenelle. Gotta get back to work -- thanks for contacting me.
