Elizabeth (Bettie) Marshall Chavez (1871 to 01/19/1930) Paternal Great, Great Grandmother and the ancestor who gave us life. I would like to find out if there is a birth certificate for her there in Mt. Airy, North Carolina. (Bettie had a total of 7 children but lost 3 at birth -speculated because there are no references to names and can be confirmed in census data of 1910 and 1920) Bettie had 3 daughters with Guadalupe Chavez (1848 to 1898) and she had another daughter with Silvestre Hernandez in 1920. They cohabitated for a while and finally married in 1925, but he died 10 days later. There are records to confirm this as well. Two of her daughters--one from each spouse--died quite young.
